The Belly And Gastronomy Festival In Rouen, Normandy.
During the Belly and Normandy Gastronomy Festival in Rouen, the streets of the Old Market district are taken over by producers in traditional Normandy costumes. For a weekend, local farm products such as apples, watercress, foie gras, cider, and calvados are available for tasting and sale. Chefs also participate in the festival to promote local specialties.
Local products in the spotlight
The Fête du ventre et de la gastronomie normande takes place in Rouen on the third weekend of October.
These two festive days are a must-attend event for food lovers and gourmets.
This grand festival, dedicated to gastronomy and local produce, has been taking place in Normandy since 1935!
It was revived in the 2000s by the Rouen Conquérant association.
You will come across the best local restaurateurs, as well as producers in traditional Norman costumes and farmers showcasing their local products: apples, cider, watercress, foie gras, honey, and snails...
Tastings and conviviality are the key elements of these two days. Moreover, this market takes place in a festive atmosphere with theater troupes and musical performances.
Edition 2023 translates to "2023 Edition" in English.
This edition of the Fête du Ventre will take place in Rouen on October 14th and 15th, 2023.
The theme chosen this year is "Norman gastronomy, traditional recipes, local products" and 140 exhibitors will be present to introduce you to their products.
During these two days, the proposed activities will combine culture and love for good food:
- culinary activities with the Pomological Association of Upper Normandy, the IRQUA Normandie, Nicolas Pinel, the AOP Laitières de Normandie, and the producers of the Côte d'Albâtre
- a stand with restaurateurs offering recipes from top chefs on the theme of "Autumn Flavors"
- cultural activities with the Jeux d'Rôles troupe, Polka Révérence, and the brass bands of the Funky Bûche factory, Vashfol, Dixie Sweet, and Orphéon Piston
- Norman photographers will exhibit their works at the Sainte-Croix des Pelletiers hall and participate in the annual photographers' contest.
Once again this year, over 150,000 visitors from all nationalities are expected for this festival, with Monsieur Auzou, a chocolatier, as the guest of honor.

The 16th edition of the "Fête du ventre et de la gastronomie normande" will take place on Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15, 2023 in the Vieux Marché neighborhood in Rouen (Place du Vieux Marché and Rue Rollon).
