Deyrolle, Anatomy Lessons: Taking Care Of Yourself At The Château De La Bourdaisière
Spring Resumption: an exhibition that transforms lifestyle hygiene into a sensory experience, in a garden-park where anatomy, nutrition, and self-care intertwine.
Reopening and schedule
The exhibition resumes on April 9, 2026, and runs until November 1, 2026, located at the Château de La Bourdaisière, a few kilometers from Tours.
It is a journey designed for the beautiful season (forget the museum shrouded in darkness): open 7 days a week, with hours that change according to the seasons, wider hours during the summer, and times adjusted for spring and autumn.
Entry conditions are announced to be accessible, with prices for adults, family packages, and free admission for toddlers.
A simple and ambitious thematic trio
Move well, eat well, feel good in your mind. Three words that structure this third edition and could, for once, be more of a promise than a slogan.
The guiding idea of the journey is clear: our body is not a scientific abstraction but a sensitive territory, an ecosystem in relation to its environment. Taking care of oneself thus becomes a way of taking care of the living beings around us, a small shift in perspective that changes everything, especially when the exhibition invites you to feel rather than to read.
A journey designed to feel.
The commissioners wanted to take anatomy out of books and place it back into lived experience: to feel differently, in the heart of a park, in a garden.
The journey is presented as a multi-step itinerary, with the stated intention of offering nine new stations that blend learning, practice, and contemplation.
Among the stages are spaces such as the Deyrolle School, the Science Library, the Forest (presented as our lung), an unconventional consultation room, a space dedicated to nutrition, a behavioral crypt, and an anatomical chapel. The experience alternates between playful and contemplative, practical lessons and mindfulness proposals.
Experts to accompany the visit
The health expert committee brings together diverse profiles to shed light on the various aspects of the journey. A nutritionist dietitian supports the dietary part, helping everyone adopt a balanced diet suited to their health and lifestyle. An emergency physician acts as a medical advisor and provides practical guidelines, while a specialist in imaging and the skeleton addresses the anatomical and musculoskeletal dimensions.
The exhibition is aimed at all audiences: children, families, adults, and professional groups, not just through words but through direct experience.
The Prince Gardener's Table: the tomato in the spotlight
Alongside the pathway, a new restaurant opens its doors: La Table du Prince Jardinier & its Tomato Bar. Located in a greenhouse facing the dahlia conservatory garden, this place puts the tomato at the center, where chefs and teams will elevate the fruit into dishes, juices, and elixirs.
The opening of this restaurant is scheduled for June 1st, offering a beautiful continuity between the garden, tasting, and the exhibition experience. It is also an opportunity to extend the visit around a table, in a setting that embraces the theme of the vegetable garden and botanical conservatory.
Multiple fallout and ambitions
The exhibition is not only intended to be aesthetic: it claims several roles. Educationally, it aims to disseminate intergenerational knowledge and offer tailored visits for local schools.
Preventively, the focus is on individual and collective responsibility and encouraging good life practices. An ecological dimension is present, raising awareness of the links between human health and biodiversity.
Finally, cultural and economic impacts are expected: bringing together residents and visitors, opening access to knowledge, and revitalizing sectors related to local tourism.
Practical information and contact
The exhibition takes place at the Château de La Bourdaisière, Montlouis-sur-Loire. Practical information (detailed hours according to the seasons, prices, access conditions) is provided to help prepare for the visit.
For any questions, a contact is provided: a phone number and an email address allow for communication.
Additionally, a press trip is organized on May 19, 2026, to discover the exhibition and the restaurant: this is a reserved opportunity, to be confirmed if one wishes to participate.
Note Well
Dietitian-nutritionist: a professional who provides individual support to adapt nutrition to health, lifestyle, and goals.
Meditation and mindfulness: practices aimed at bringing attention back to the body and the present moment, often offered to promote reconnection with oneself.
To conclude (and sign up if desired)
If the idea appeals to you, mixing garden, anatomy, and plate, this edition offers a gentle and concrete way to leave with guidelines for better living (or, at the very least, the desire to try).
It is an exhibition that focuses on direct experience rather than theoretical exposition: one comes away, perhaps, a little more attentive to one's rhythm, to what goes on one's plate, to the simple act of a walk in the forest.
