The Photographic Excitement: A Festival In Angoulême.

The L'émoi photographique festival was created by the association of the same name. It takes place every year in Angoulême in April, with Africa as a recurring theme. This photographic event is an opportunity to discover numerous free exhibitions in the city of Angoulême and its large metropolitan area.

A festival around Africa.

The L'émoi photographique festival, created in 2013 by the association of the same name, takes place in April in the city of Angoulême and its large metropolitan area.

This photographic event has chosen Africa as a recurring subject of its programming: the African continent is honored, either by the subject matter or by the origin of the photographers. However, this young festival is open to all kinds of works.

The first edition of this event, which showcases African photographers and encourages exchange, was sponsored by the Ambassador of Benin to UNESCO, Professor Joseph Yaï Olabiyi Babaola.

Edition 2023 translates to "2023 edition" in English.

The 10th edition of the L'émoi photographique festival is taking place in Angoulême from March 25 to April 30, 2023. This year's theme is "Arborescence".

A true dialogue between the person photographed and the photographer, a portrait can convey a political, sociological, or aesthetic message while presenting a snapshot of a life, community, or idea.
