The Photo Book Festival: A Festival Of Photographic Books In Aix-en-provence.

Established in 2015, the festival "La Photo se Livre" celebrates imagery, with a special focus on the publication of fine photographic books. The second edition of this festival is currently taking place at the La Fontaine Obscure gallery.

Presentation of the festival

As its name suggests, La Photo se Livre is an event focused on the book and photography.

This event, which began in Aix-en-Provence in 2015, takes the form of days dedicated to artist's books and photographic micro-publishing.

These few days provide an opportunity to highlight imagery, and more specifically the publication of fine photographic books, through exhibitions, workshops, and panel discussions.

2025 Edition

Exhibitions and meetings to celebrate the photobook
The 2025 edition of La Photo se Livre will take place from mid-October 2025 to early January 2026, alongside the Phot'Aix festival. The program includes exhibitions of photobooks, presentations of works by their authors, public readings, as well as panel discussions bringing together photographers, publishers, and critics.

La Fontaine Obscure, a major player in the Aix photographic scene
The association La Fontaine Obscure, founded in 1979, is a community photographic space that promotes contemporary photography through exhibitions, training, and meetings. It also organizes the Phot'Aix festival, of which La Photo se Livre is a major component.
