Presentation
The Peoples & Nature Photo Festival of La Gacilly is the largest outdoor photo festival in France. This event, open to all and completely free, transforms the small Breton village of La Gacilly (in the department of Morbihan) into a true open-air art gallery.
Every year, 200 large-format photographs are displayed continuously for four months on 700 m² of outdoor exhibition space.
An Engaged Festival
The Photo Peuples & Nature Festival in La Gacilly was created in 2004 by Jacques Rocher, a photography enthusiast particularly attentive to the protection of nature. This festival, which attracts nearly 300,000 visitors, has set itself the mission of raising public awareness of today's and tomorrow's environmental challenges.
Internationally renowned photographers who exhibit their shots in the streets, gardens, and on the walls of La Gacilly thus bring images from all corners of the world that are in line with the committed spirit of the festival. These photographs are intended to raise awareness of the massive destruction of natural habitats and to testify to the initiatives undertaken, locally or globally, to preserve the environment.
