The Cinema Festival: Low-priced Screenings And Much More.

If you are a movie lover or if you find that going to the cinema is usually too expensive, take advantage of the "Fête du cinéma" to stock up on films! For four days, movie theaters offer screenings for 4€ throughout France. Many activities are also planned to celebrate the 7th art.

Movie lovers are having a great time.

The Fête du cinéma (Cinema Festival) was created in 1985 by Jack Lang, then Minister of Culture, and by all professionals in the film industry.

For more than 30 years, its ambition has remained the same: to introduce cinema to everyone, especially young people.

Festive, friendly and popular, this national event is open to all audiences.

And so that everyone can participate in the festival, all cinemas in France offer a special rate of 4 euros per screening for 4 days.

This French initiative also shines internationally, with events in more than 20 countries.

Edition 2023 translates to "2023 Edition" in English.

The Cinema Festival invites you to join from Sunday, July 2nd to Wednesday, July 5th, 2023 and offers a full program of exceptional activities: exclusive screenings, surprise guests, workshops for children, debates, masterclasses, discovering cinema professions and filming locations, meetings with film crews...

On this occasion, a contest is organized on Instagram from June 24th to 29th: to participate, post your photos on the theme "animals and cinema" with the hashtag #animauxcinema and try to win iPads, annual passes to the Paris Zoological Park, and unlimited cinema cards...

During the festival, all places will be in the cinema mood: dark rooms, of course, but also museums, media libraries, public spaces, the Parisian metro, and airports.

All these events will complement the great operation organized by the National Federation of French Cinemas: from Sunday, July 2nd to Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, all viewers will benefit from an exceptional rate of €4 for all films and all sessions!

This good deal will be an opportunity to discover many movies on the big screen, including The Jungle Book, Finding Dory, The Red Turtle, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Angry Birds - the movie, as well as Camping 3 or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

As the last day of the festival is a Wednesday, the day of new movie releases, you will have even more choices!

France Télévisions celebrates cinema.

If you're someone who likes to stay at home, note that France Télévisions is partnering with the Fête du cinéma for the first time in 2016!

For seven days, from Sunday 2nd to Wednesday 5th July 2023, all of the group's channels will offer cinema lovers an exceptional program, including:
=> a special evening show featuring images and music celebrating 50 years of French cinema
=> 20 exclusively French feature films
=> short films and documentaries about cinema
=> a unique collection of 7 short programs, written and directed for France Télévisions by Christopher Thompson
=> and even more content on the group's digital platforms, particularly "pluzz VàD".

All you need to celebrate the seventh art without leaving your home...
