Vulcania Park: Discover The Volcanoes.

First amusement park and scientific exploration entirely dedicated to volcanoes and Earth sciences, Vulcania Park is located in Auvergne which is itself the most volcanic region of France. This unique place, nestled in the heart of the Chaîne des Puys, invites you to uncover the mysteries of volcanoes and the creation of our planet.

A park dedicated to volcanism.

Vulcania Park is a scientific leisure park located in nature. This interactive park dedicated to the discovery of volcanic phenomena and Earth sciences is located in Auvergne, in the heart of an exceptional volcanic landscape. It opened its doors in 2002 in Saint-Ours-les-Roches, 15 km from Clermont-Ferrand in Puy-de-Dôme. If you are tempted by an immersion in the spectacular world of volcanoes, know that Vulcania is open from March to October.

A spectacular place.

Vulcania Park benefits from an ideal setting to discover volcanoes as it is located at the heart of the Chaîne des Puys and its famous Puy-de-Dôme!

During this visit, you will explore the volcanoes of Auvergne and around the world through spectacular simulations (images of real volcanic phenomena and sounds recorded in natural environments).

With its original architecture inspired by a volcano crater, this park has become a must-visit attraction for visitors passing through Auvergne. It promises unique experiences and thrills at the gates of Clermont-Ferrand.

Unique animations

This leisure destination, halfway between scientific discovery and pure entertainment, offers new animations every year. Since 2005, Vulcania Park has housed Europe's largest earthquake simulator, so that visitors can experience earth phenomena.

The exploration begins with a visit to the Grand Crater, a 35m deep crater dug into several successive lava flows dating back 30,000 years.

Among the many attractions of this park, a gallery allows you to discover the rumblings of volcanoes and the diversity of volcanic manifestations, while another invites you to experience the heat of geysers and lava.

The park also has projection rooms and discovery trails, not to mention the volcanic garden, which offers a real haven of peace after a visit that is...volcanic!

"The largest planetarium in France."

The largest planetarium in France has just been inaugurated at Parc Vulcania on March 29, 2023, on the occasion of the park's reopening. It is an immersive dome with a diameter of 22 meters equipped with a laser projection system offering exceptional quality images and sound.

As the flagship attraction of the new season, this planetarium invites you on a sidereal journey to discover the volcanoes of our solar system, whether they are made of fire or ice! You will discover the volcanoes of the planets Mars and Venus, as well as Mercury and the Moon, not to mention the cryovolcanoes of Enceladus, one of Saturn's icy moons.

In addition to the inauguration of this new attraction, the park has signed a partnership with CNES (the French National Centre for Space Studies). So many novelties that promise to take you even further on your travels!
