Ingredients
- - 300 g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa)
- - 4 tablespoons of candied orange peel, chopped
- - 15 candied cherries
- - Whole almonds and hazelnuts
- - Optional: fresh pistachios
Preparation
1. Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie until smooth.
2. Once the chocolate is fluid, drop small spoonfuls of chocolate at regular intervals on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
3. After testing all portions, add an almond, a hazelnut, 3 or 4 pieces of candied orange, half a cherry, and for those who wish, one or two pistachios on each mendiant.
4. Allow the mendiants to harden in a cool, dry place.
5. Once cooled, peel them off and serve, or package them in pretty bags to give away.
