Nice Carnival 2024: 5 Things To Know

The City of Nice organizes one of the most famous carnivals in France and even in the world every year! This year, this major festive event is scheduled from February 17 to March 3, 2024. Here are 5 things to know about the Nice Carnival 2024.

1- The theme is the King of Pop Culture.

For this must-attend event on the French Riviera, the City of Nice chooses a different theme each year.

After celebrating the reign of the King of the world's treasures, the Nice Carnival 2024 will crown the King of pop culture! With such a theme, we can expect an edition full of colors, madness, and joy.

To discover this new king, the queen of the 2024 edition, and the animated floats, one will have to visit the heart of Nice once again. The Nice Carnival parades take place at Place Masséna and along the Promenade des Anglais.

YouTuber Cyprien designed one of the floats.

In Nice, the floats that parade during the carnival are designed and created by carnival workers, from father to son. Even though the city has maintained this tradition for over 150 editions to date, it also sometimes collaborates with personalities and artists for the creation of a float.

For the Nice Carnival 2024 on the theme of pop culture, the YouTuber Cyprien has been commissioned by the City of Nice to design one of the 17 floats in the procession. It must be said that the YouTube star with 14 million subscribers is also a fan of manga and Franco-Belgian comics!

3- The Carnival Village sets up on the Paillon Promenade.

While the parades and flower battles are ticketed events, some of the Nice Carnival 2024 festivities are free and open to everyone. This includes the closing celebrations and the Carnival Village, which will be set up from February 17 to March 3, 2024, on the Promenade du Paillon.

In this area accessible every day from 11 am to 6 pm, both children and adults can enjoy free activities such as creative workshops, readings, artist carousels, and a full schedule of artistic performances.

There are safety rules to follow.

Carnival is a celebration where joy, good spirits, and the exuberance of costumes are essential. It is even said that it's a time when "everything is allowed"... However, in order for the celebration to be beautiful and safe for all visitors, there are safety rules to follow during your visit to the Nice Carnival 2024.

To enter the carnival grounds, visitors must undergo systematic checks at the entrances and pass through security gates. That's why it's recommended to arrive on site 2 hours before the start of the show and to use the entrance indicated on your ticket.

Please note that dangerous items such as firecrackers and glass bottles are prohibited. The same applies to confusing costumes and fake weapons.

5- The ticket office for the Nice Carnival 2024 is open.

The King of Pop Culture invites you to the opening parade of the Nice Carnival on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:30 PM.
