Paris Plages: Summer And Sports Activities.

Every summer since 2002, the city hall of Paris transforms the banks of the Seine with sandy beaches, grass, and palm trees. The now famous operation Paris Plages offers Parisians, residents of the Île-de-France region, and tourists a chance to escape by playing beach volleyball or pétanque. For one summer, it feels like the South...

Near the cobblestones, the beach.

Paris Plages is a popular event initiated by the city of Paris in 2002. For over ten years now, this operation takes place every summer on the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville and the right bank of the Seine to give them a holiday atmosphere.

Various fun and sporting activities bring joy to both young and old. There is no shortage of entertainment, from sandcastle building to playing pétanque!

Due to its success, the operation has even been extended to the Bassin de la Villette since 2007. In 2011, Paris Plage attracted over three million visitors, representing a 5% increase in attendance compared to the 2010 edition.

Note: Paris is not the only city in France and in the world to offer its residents this type of entertainment. Other foreign capitals such as Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, and Prague have been inspired by this Made in France idea!

Edition 2023 translates to "2023 Edition" in English.
