Art Festival, Cities And Landscapes: Discoveries Along The Water In Amiens.

For several years, the hortillonnages of Amiens have been the setting for an original event: the Art, Cities and Landscapes Festival. On this occasion, art is discovered on foot and especially by boat, along 65 km of canals. An outing idea that will reconcile contemporary art lovers and nature lovers!

An exceptional setting.

The Art, Cities and Landscapes Festival owes its uniqueness and a large part of its appeal to its unique setting: the Hortillonnages of Amiens, marshes crisscrossed by 65 km of canals!

Since 2009, this event combining art and nature invites young artists, landscapers or visual artists from around the world to redesign the landscape and exhibit their creations in this exceptional green setting.

The works are juxtaposed with vegetable plots or flower crops. They appear at the turn of a path on Ile aux Fagots, Ile Robinson or Chemin du Malaquis and also settle around Etang de Clermont...

This event is organized by the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens, associated with Amiens Métropole, the Conseil général de la Somme, the Région Picardie, the Ministry of Culture and Communication as well as local businesses and actors.

In just a few years, more than 100 works have been created and the festival has gained international recognition.
