My House, My Story: The New Show By Stéphane Bern On France 3.

In his new Sunday afternoon show on France 3, Stéphane Bern once again proves his love for heritage by helping owners restore typical and traditional houses. Here are 5 things to know about the magazine "Ma maison, mon histoire".

This magazine follows the renovation of traditional houses.

The magazine "My House, My Story", broadcast on Sundays at 15:15 on France 3, accompanies owners of traditional houses in the renovation of these exceptional properties.

This program, presented by Stéphane Bern, is an idea of the host himself, who has acquired and renovated the former Royal College of Thiron-Gardais in the Perche region. With this magazine, he wanted to help owners who wish to restore a typical property from our regions, such as a chalet, a farmhouse, or a Provençal mas.

Thanks to the show, owners benefit from the advice and expertise of architects and craftsmen to renovate their homes in accordance with traditions. This magazine has also established a partnership with the Chamber of Trades and Crafts to involve local experts in the various renovation projects.

2- This program highlights an unknown aspect of our local heritage.

When we talk about heritage, we first think of castles, churches, fortresses or even bridges, but rarely do we think of houses with their regional specificities.

The magazine "Ma maison, mon histoire" highlights these unknown treasures: traditional character dwellings such as an Alsatian half-timbered house, a typical Basque house or an earthen farm.

No one was better placed to host this program than Stéphane Bern, a great lover of heritage and owner of the former royal college of Thiron-Gardais. Every Sunday, the host meets owners who are as passionate as he is about old houses to help them successfully carry out their projects and renovations.

3- The show showcases endangered skills.

These exceptional properties have a heritage value and their renovation requires special care in order not to alter their typical architecture.

Restoration does not necessarily cost more, but it takes time and perseverance to find qualified architects and craftsmen. This is where Stéphane Bern and the teams of this program can give a little boost to the owners.

Through the work carried out in houses all over France, the show "Ma maison, mon histoire" allows us to discover passionate professions and local know-how, sometimes on the verge of disappearing...

4- This program required extensive preparation.

The magazine My House, My Story broadcast on Sunday afternoons on France 3 since August 20, 2023 required extensive preparation. Stéphane Bern has been preparing this new show for France 3... since 2021!

For each renovated house, the filming took place in several stages. The show's teams first went to assess the necessary renovations and the problems to be solved in these homes.

They then followed the progress of the work, which often experienced delays due to the complexity of artisanal and heritage renovations.

5- This magazine is not Stéphane Bern's only project for the back-to-school season.

In My House, My Story, Stéphane Bern introduces viewers to the renovation of exceptional houses with the enthusiasm he is known for when it comes to history and heritage...

Meanwhile, the return looks busy for the presenter who made his comeback on the radio on Europe 1 with the show Historiquement vôtre on August 28th.

Stéphane Bern also has several television projects in preparation: you can find him on France 3 on September 13th to discover the winner of the show Le Monument préféré des Français... He will also present a new episode of Secrets d'histoire dedicated to Pope John Paul II on the occasion of Pope Francis' visit to Marseille on September 22nd and 23rd.

Finally, the multi-talented presenter-actor will continue his acting career in TV movies for France 3. He will shoot in October the sequel to the adventures of prosecutor Antoine Bellefond, a crime fiction that viewers could discover on Trois last year.
