The Montier-en-der Wildlife Photography Festival

The Montier-en-Der International Wildlife and Nature Photography Festival is the largest event in the world in the field of nature photography. At a time when sustainable development and environmental preservation are major concerns, this festival brings together visual testimonies from numerous wildlife photographers.

Presentation

The Montier-en-Der Wildlife Photography Festival is an event that combines photography with nature conservation.

Since its inception, the festival has been sponsored by public figures committed to environmental protection or by renowned photographers whose works reflect the wonders and diversity of the world. Allain Bougrain Dubourg, Dominique Voynet, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Jean-Louis Etienne, Gérard Porte, and Michel Denis-Huot have been patrons of previous editions.

Held in Montier-en-Der, in the Haute-Marne department, the festival offers:
numerous nature photography exhibitions
• an international wildlife and nature photography competition
• a special youth competition organized in partnership with Canon

2023 Edition

The 26th edition of the Montier-en-Der Wildlife Photography Festival takes place on November 16, 17, 18, and 19, 2023.

As the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) approaches, the theme of this edition is global warming. The festival's poster is a photo by Rémy Marion titled "The Polar Bear at the Crossroads".

This year, the festival's patrons are Terre de Loups - Olivier Larrey and Yves Fagniart, and Pascal Maitre.

As with every edition, this event will offer a true world tour in images by the greatest wildlife and nature photographers.

Visitors will be able to discover about fifty exhibitions, some of which are outdoors, showcasing more than 1300 photos.

Also included in this edition's program are:
- nature photography competitions
- 40 hours of conferences
- numerous panel discussions
