"When will the coronation take place?"

King Charles III will be crowned on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in London, England. However, the festivities will continue for the following two days.

The official coronation website (link below) refers to the "Coronation Weekend," which will run from May 6 to May 8.

A "Coronation Concert" will take place on Sunday, May 7 at Windsor Castle, alongside the Coronation Big Lunch organized in the streets and throughout the country.

Monday, May 8, which is a public holiday in both Great Britain and France, will be an opportunity to volunteer for the Big Help Out initiative, which encourages Britons to volunteer locally.

2- Where will the coronation take place?

The coronation of Charles III will take place at Westminster Abbey in London. The 73-year-old monarch will be the 40th king of England to be crowned at this location. It is also worth noting that the highly codified ceremony has remained unchanged for almost 1000 years!

Once the ceremony is over, the king and queen consort will return to Buckingham Palace. They will be joined by other members of the royal family for an appearance on the famous balcony of the palace.

Who is invited to the coronation?

The coronation of Charles III is a highly anticipated historical event, as the previous ceremony dates back to 1953! But beyond the historic day and solemn religious ceremony, the coronation is also a social event with a list of exceptional guests. If you are following this event on television, expect to see members of the royal family alongside the British Prime Minister, members of Parliament, as well as heads of state and members of royal families from around the world.

"What crown will King Charles III wear?"

As tradition dictates, the Crown of St Edward, which is a centerpiece of the Crown Jewels, has been taken out of the Tower of London specifically for the coronation of Charles III.
