Matcha And White Chocolate Chip Cookies: The Easy Recipe

Do you love soft cookies with generous chocolate chips? For a change from the traditional hazelnut and dark chocolate chip recipe, we suggest you discover a Japanese inspired recipe flavored with matcha green tea. These matcha and white chocolate chip cookies are very tasty but also very easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients needed to make matcha and white chocolate chip cookies for 4 people (about 16 small cookies):

150 g white chocolate
100 g of soft butter
200 g flour
a pinch of salt
a tablespoon of baking powder
1 medium egg
50 g sugar
one sachet of vanilla sugar
2 teaspoons of matcha tea

Preparation of the ingredients

1- Break the white chocolate into large chips. The matcha and white chocolate chip cookies should be generous with chips.

2- Melt the butter in the microwave or in a saucepan and let it cool.

3- In a large container, mix the flour with the yeast and the pinch of salt.

4- In another bowl, whisk the egg with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the melted butter and mix well.

Preparation of the cookie dough

1- To make the cookie dough, add the liquid ingredients to the container containing the flour, salt and yeast mixture.

2- Mix with a wooden spoon. Don't worry if the dough seems very sticky, it is this texture that gives the matcha and white chocolate chip cookies their softness. Sift in the matcha green tea.

3- Mix with a spoon or by hand until you get an evenly green paste.

4- Add the white chocolate chips last, making sure they are well distributed inside the cookie dough.

Assembly and cooking

1- Flour your hands and form small balls of dough 2 to 3 cm in diameter.

2- Place them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, making sure to space them out.

3- Bake these matcha and white chocolate chip cookies 10 minutes at 180°C.

4- Let the cookies cool before eating so they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

To note: you can store these deliciously moist cookies in an airtight box, but only if they haven't been devoured right out of the oven!
