Beef And Pork Brochettes: A Barbecue Recipe

A classic of summer barbecues, beef and pork skewers are easy to prepare. Onions and peppers are usually added for extra flavour. Here's a simple and colourful recipe to make great kebabs.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredients needed to make beef and pork skewers for 6 people:

300 g beef (fondue meat)
300 g of pork meat
1 small tray of cherry tomatoes
2 peppers of different colors
1 large white onion

Preparation

1- Cut both meats into regular-sized cubes, 2 cm on each side for the pork and 3 cm on each side for the beef.

3- Peel the onion, cut it in half and then cut each half into thick strips. The onion pieces should not be cut too small to fit on the skewer.

4- To prepare the beef and pork skewers, skewer the different ingredients on skewers, alternating the pieces of meat and vegetables.

By doing so, your skewers will be both more beautiful and more tasty because the meat will be impregnated with the flavor of the bell pepper and onion.

To note: you can sprinkle the brochettes with herbes de Provence before cooking them but don't salt them so they don't give up their juices during cooking. It is best if each guest adds the salt to their plate.

Cooking

To cook the skewers properly, we recommend searing the meat at the beginning of cooking and then lowering the temperature so that the meat does not dry out.

This will of course be easier if you are using an electric barbecue or plancha... But if you are using a classic barbecue with an embers cooking, you will just have to raise the grill so that the cooking temperature is less strong.

Cook the beef and pork skewers on the plancha or barbecue for about 15 minutes. Cutting the meat and other ingredients into smaller pieces allows for faster cooking.

Watch for browning and turn the skewers halfway through.
