Ingredients

Here are the necessary ingredients to make apple cinnamon porridge for one person:

50 g of oat flakes.
20 cl of plant-based drink of your choice.
1 small apple.
½ lemon.
1 tablespoon of maple or agave syrup.
1 pinch of ground cinnamon.

Note: For this recipe, you can use any plant-based drink you like, such as almond, oat, or soy milk, preferably unsweetened and calcium-fortified.

If you don't want to sweeten the porridge with maple or agave syrup, you can replace half of the plant-based drink with apple juice.

Grated Apple Preparation

If you are preparing this apple cinnamon porridge for one person, choose a small two-toned apple or use only half of a large golden apple.

1- Wash and peel the apple.

2- Cut the apple into quarters.

3- Grate three quarters with a coarse grater and slice the last quarter into thin slices for garnish.

4- Sprinkle the grated or sliced apple with lemon juice to prevent it from browning.

Vegan Porridge Preparation

To prepare vegan apple cinnamon porridge, you can mix the plant-based drink with apple juice or another sweetening product.

1- Pour the plant-based drink into a saucepan.

2- Add agave or maple syrup, or apple juice. In this case, count 10 cl of plant-based drink for 10 cl of apple juice.

3- Add the oat flakes and bring the mixture to a simmer.

Cooking apple cinnamon porridge

1- When the mixture starts to simmer, cook the oatmeal for 3 minutes on low heat, stirring.

2- Add the grated apple and continue cooking on low heat for another 3 minutes.

3- Let the apple cinnamon porridge rest for a few minutes before serving. It can be enjoyed warm or cold.

Note: if you are making this porridge in a larger quantity, you can let it cool to room temperature after cooking, then store it for 3 days in the refrigerator.

Apple Cinnamon Porridge Finishes
